Age 45, of Stratford, NJ passed away July 4, 2006 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.She is survived by her husband, Oleg Ugolev of Stratford, NJ; daughter, Lydia at home; stepdaughter, Anastasia Ugolev of Miami, FL; mother, Gloria Yackel of Pine City, NY; brothers, William (Amy) Yackel of Beaver Dams, NY, Lawrence (Helen) Yackel of Albuquerque, NM, Jeffrey (Doreen) Yackel of Elmira, NY; eight beloved nieces and nephews.She is predeceased by her father, William W. Yackel.Patricia was a graduate of Southside High School and Albany University and received a certificate for teaching English as a Second Language from Cambridge University in London.She lived in Istanbul, Turkey for 16 years and was a teacher there.She met and married her husband and also had a daughter while living in Turkey.They moved to New Jersey in 2000.She was a Spanish teacher in Lindenwold, NJ for 5 years.Patricia had a real gift for teaching. She was much loved by both students and faculty.She knew how to connect with her students and make each one feel special.Patricia taught with a flairmusic, dance, art, drama and cooking were just a few methods included in her repertoire.She had a love for travel and a deep interest in other countries and cultures.She loved learning new things and then sharing her knowledge.Patricia had a flair for languages and was fully fluent in four languages and knowledgeable in many others.She loved to sing and dance and enjoyed teaching her nieces the art of belly dancing. Patricia always attracted others to her with her vibrant personality and her zest for life. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Saturday from 1 to 3 PM and 5 to 7 PM with funeral service there at 7:00 PM.
