Was born May 14, 1970 in Elmira, NY went home to be with his Lord on Monday, June 8, 2009 after an extended illness at the age of 39. His cousin, Jonathan Zauner predeceased him. Paul is survived by the following: loving wife, Melissa K. (Bennett) Bright; mother, Marlene (Case) Iak; father and best friend, Charles T. Bright; grandparents, Robert and Betty Case; mother and father-in-law, Sharon and Paul Bennett; daughters, Amanda Long, Wendy Redder; son, Jovian Scharborough; daughter, Alexis Joyner; step-daughter, Nicole Colon; step-sons, Carlos Colon and Paul Colon; grandchildren, Deonte Harris, the absolute joy of his life, and Mia Camacho-Colon; brothers, Charles T. H. Bright, David R. Bright; sister, Peggy Bright Berhannan; sister, Michelle Forrest; sister-in-laws, Laurie Kelley, Paula Bennett and Pamela Bennett; aunts, Judy (Ron) Zauner; Anita (Donald) Ciarico; uncle, Norman (Mary) Case; special cousin, Robert Case. Paul retired from Paul Bennett's Garage as an automotive technician after several years of dedicated service. His favorite past time was music and creating it in his personal studio in the basement of his home. Paul was a wood craftsman and labored intensely with his hands around his home making many lasting memories with his wood working skills. Although he suffered for the last four years of his life, Paul leaves with us a final and unselfish act of love, donating his eyes for the benefit of helping someone in need. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Friday, June 12, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 7 PM. The Reverend Brian Harris will celebrate Paul's services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Paul's name be directed to his family to help defray his funeral expenses.
