Paul R. Freeman Sr.Lifetime member of Southport Volunteer Fire DepartmentAge 77 of Elmira Heights, NY, son of the late Russell and Marian (Ayers) Freeman, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.He is survived by his wife Barbara Mortimer Freeman, with who he spent 56 years of life and love together, son, Paul R. (Cynthia) Freeman Jr., daughter, Susan Piccione, grandchildren Michele (Joe), Jay, Dan (Junia), Jennifer (Jody), Matthew, great grandchildren Peyton, Dominic, Kirstin, and Alexis. Sisters, Pauline (John) Kerbein, Mary (Don) Smith, Jean (Frank) Kerbein, several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents Paul was predeceased by his sister, Cora May, mother in-law and father in-law, Marian & Omer Mortimer, sister in-law Betty and brother in-law, Chuck Former member of the Elmira Heights American Legion Post #154 and lifetime member of the Southport Volunteer Fire Department. Paul was known as Santa Claus to many, young and old. He worked at Maple Farm Dairy for many years and retired from F. M. Howell after many years of service. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira on Tuesday July 1, 2008 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there Tuesday at 4:00 PM The Reverend William Vallet will officiate Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.Those wishing may make memorials to Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care, 11571 E.
