Mr. Paul Telech - Has passed on to be with the Lord on May 12, 2011. He was born November 29, 1919 to John Simon and Eva (Thilbault) Telech Sr. in Leominster, Massachusetts.He is a retired employee of the New York Telephone Company where he was a Forman when he retired in 1982 after 36 years.He was a veteran of the Army Signal Corp. from WW II and was an instructor of field line and pole line construction for 2 years at Camp Charles Wood, Eatentown, NJ.He was a member of the 3188 Sig. Svc Bn Co."C' and achieved the rank of T/Sgt. He was in charge of 21 men and assigned special duty with Detachment "G"3188 Signal Service Bn Co."C".He served in England and in France and received the American Service Medal, Europe -African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and French Croix de Guerre with Bronze Star.He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Skiff-Bower Post 1536 and the American Legion Harry B. Bentley Post 443.He was one of the men in Elmira to help form the CYO where he also coached basketball.He was an assistant director of the Elmira Police Cadets and a Scoutmaster for Troop 45 at Parley Colburn School.He was member of St. Peter and Paul Parish since 1940.Paul L. Telech Sr. age 91 formerly of Pine City, NY married the late Cecilia Annora (Cryder) Telech on August 3, 1942.He is survived by his children; Cecilia (Robert) Ryan, Paul (Nancy) Telech, Jo-Ann (Doug) Davis, Jack Telech, brother; Richard Telech, special friend, Ella Personius, 13 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira Monday, May 16th, 2011 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM and again from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at Saint Peter and Paul Church, 556 St. Joseph's Blvd, Elmira, NY Tuesday, May 17th, at 2:00PM. Reverend Richard Farrell will officiate.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul's name to Elmira Free Community Kitchen or Blessed Sacrament Parish Center Fund.
