Age 84, of Chamberlain Street, Elmira, NY passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 3, 2005 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Pete was the son of the late Joseph and Angela Corozza Lemoncelli. He is survived by his wife: Betty Lemoncelli of Elmira, daughter, Dawn (Larry) Shanks of Elmira; step-daughter, Debra (David) Horton of Horseheads; son, Richard (Marilyn) Lemoncelli of Elmira; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Pete is his brother, John (Devine) Lemoncelli of Elmira; sisters-in-law, Doris Lemoncelli of Pine City, and Flora Lemoncelli of Naples, FL, several nieces and nephews. His first wife Winifred, his sisters, Mary, Lana, and Dora, and his brothers, Frank, Michael, and Nunzio, grandson-in-law, Jamey Tatman, predeceased him. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WW II.Pete was a skilled baseball athlete having served as a player and a coach. For many years, Pete worked for Spaulding Bakery, Millbrook Bakery, and Interstate Bakeries in sales and deliveries. Prior to his working at the bakeries he was proprietor of the Atlantic Gas Station on the corner of Broadway and Franklin Street on the Elmira?s Southside. In his later years, Pete could be seen opening the door and working on services at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. He enjoyed all kinds of sports such as baseball, football, basketball, games of chance, and dancing. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Sunday, February 6, 2005 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM with funeral services at 5:00 PM.
