Philip Gordon LongFormerly of Pine City, NYWas born September 13, 1955 in Elmira, NY the proud son of his parents, Joseph A. and Doris A. (Judson) Long, became one of Heaven's newest angels on Sunday, April 26, 2015 as he was ushered home to be with his Lord. He was greeted there by his beloved mother, Doris, who preceded him in death April 13, 2012. Phil is survived by his loving father, Joseph; cousins, Carol (Larry) Tressler of Horseheads, NY; Melody Tillinghast of Millport, NY; Carl Cooke of Wilmington, NC; niece, Heather Flynn of Jacksonville, FL; along with many other relatives, a huge party of wonderful friends at Abel 2, where he resided and his church family at Elmira Christian Center who simply knew him as "Phippy". He was a life member at ECC as well. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of "Phippy's" on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 6:00 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of his family where Phil will be laid to rest with his precious mom, Doris.
