Went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 30, 2009. He was born April 12, 1937 in Oil City, PA to Grant W. and June M. (Tuttle) McElhaney. Phil was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marda Curren McElhaney; daughter, Kathi (Greg) Cronkrite; granddaughter, Andrea Cronkrite; sister, Romayne McElhaney; along with several nieces, nephews and special friend, David Repsher. He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Laurel; brothers, William, Howard, Glenn and Edward. Phil was a car enthusiast and took great pleasure in his many cars, car shows and racing. Phil was employed for many years as a salesman and supervisor at Millbrook Bread and retired as a salesman for Frito Lay, Inc. He was a member of the Oakwood Avenue United Methodist Church and served on various committees and was currently a constituent of the Westside United Methodist Church. Family and friends may call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Friday, December 4, 2009 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. A Memorial Service celebrating Phil's life will be held immediately following with Reverend Don Guiles to officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Phil's name to Southern Tier Hospice 11751 East Corning Road Corning, NY 14830.
