Philip H. Santone

Philip H. Santone “Phil”Age 88 of Elmira, NY passed away on Saturday April 6, 2013 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Philip was predeceased by his parents, Joseph J. and Julia Santone, brother, Joseph Santone, sister, Mary Nemier, and niece, Regina Scott.He is survived by his nephews, Charles Nemier and Thomas Nemier. Philip was a United States Army Veteran of WW II, He worked at the Remington Rand and retired from Gerould’s Pharmacy, Elmira, NY. He was the past Commander of American Legion, Harry B. Bentley Post. Philip was active in his church, Saint Mary’s on the Southside and upon retirement he did volunteer work at the Samaritan Center. He liked to read, talk politics and watch sports on TV.Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Franklin St. Elmira, NY on Wednesday April 10, 2013 at 11:00 AM, Father John DeSocio Celebrant, followed by graveside Prayers at St. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, with Military Honors.Guest book may be signed in obituaries at www.olthof.com.Arrangements have been entrusted to Olthof Funeral Home, Inc.
