Philo J. Montanye

Age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was born May 14, 1924 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Philo J. and Ruth Montanye Sr. He was predeceased by his brother, Harold Montanye; sisters, Louise Heath and Dorothy Conklin. Philo is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Agnes (Woodhouse) Montanye; beloved son, Edward Montanye of Lawrenceville, PA; nephew, Jay Woodhouse of Millerton, PA; brothers, Lyman Montanye of Elmira, NY; Lester Montanye of Pine City, NY; Raymond (Marjorie) Montanye of Chemung, NY; sister, Marietta Voorhees of East Smithfield, PA; Gertrude Clearwater of Big Flats, NY; sister-in-law, Susie Montanye of Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, Robert Heath of Pennsylvania. Philo retired from Kaplan?s Scrap Yard as a crane operator after 50 years of dedicated service. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday, 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM. A Memorial Service celebrating Philo?s life will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM. Walt Barnes will celebrate the service. Interment will take place in the Alder Run Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
