Phyllis J. Watkins

Age 78, of Elmira passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at home surrounded by her loving family.Phyllis was born March 17, 1925 in Pine City, NY, the daughter of the late Lester M. and Harriet Emma (Harris) Vanderpoel. She was a former employee of C & K Laundry and a local area business woman.She loved gardening and baking and was a very loving and generous person who gave of herself to family, friends, and her community.Phyllis was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph (Red) Mekos, her parents, sisters, Mary E. Webb and Donna L. Warren, brother, Paul J. Vanderpoel, and sister-in-law, Fonda M. Vanderpoel She is survived by her husband, Robert A. (Andy) Watkins; brother, Arthur G. Vanderpoel of Pine City, NY; stepsons, John And PatriciaWatkins of Elmira, andRobert Watkins; grandchildren, Katherine Watkins; Robert P. Watkins; Anne And Christopher Fenton; John Watkins, Jr.; great-grandchild, Benjamin Christopher Fenton; special niece, Patricia L. And Jerald Meeker and family; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Monday, July 7, 2003from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM.The funeral will be Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Rev.
