Raymond C. â??Chuck Or Tex�? Vate

Age 49, formerly of the Mark Twain Apartments before moving to St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, passed away very unexpectedly on Friday, December 20, 2002 in St. Thomas. He was born July 16, 1953 in Chincoteague, VA the son of Raymond C. and Beverly (Dozier) Vater, Sr. Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly in 1957; beloved sister, Karen Vater, June 20, 1973. He is survived by his loving parents, Raymond C. and Eleanor Vater, Sr. of Pine City, NY; sister, Donna Vater of Wilmington, NC; brother, George Vater of Rochester, NY; step-sister, Michele Morgan of Leland, NC; former step-mother, Reva Rowley of Wilmington, NC; nephew, Derek Cornish of Chapel Hill, NC; niece, Jennifer Troccia of Wilmington, NC; cousins, Tom Baker and Lynda Schroeder, along with many close friends. ?Chuck? as he was affectionately known, was a master carpenter and enjoyed working with wood and building things. He was very talented and would do anything for anybody anytime. ?Chuck? lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by all. At his request there will be no prior calling hours. Funeral Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc.
