Raymond Richard Lofstrom

Raymond R. LofstromAge 85, of Pine Valley, NY, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. He was the son of the late Raymond R. and Ruth (Turner) Lofstrom. He is survived by daughter, Debbie (George) Sutton; sons, David (Jeannette) Lofstrom and Donald (Debbie) Lofstrom; grandchildren, Christine (Eddie) Diorka, Kathy Lofstrom; future great grandchild expected in November, Baby girl Diorka; grandpups, “Frankie” “Romeo”, and “Polly”; also survived by his children’s mother, Trudy Barnard; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Retired Captain of 25 years for the New York State Department of Corrections and US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 154 of Elmira Heights, member of Our Savior Lutheran Church Choir and the Elmira Choral Society. He was a dancing, skating, jazz, roller coaster and sailing enthusiast. Raymond was a member of the Rolling Acres Fireside committee solving the world’s problems one sunset at a time, and was a member of the Southside High School graduating class of 1947. It was Raymond's request that there be no calling hours. His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 2872 Westinghouse Road, Horseheads, NY.
