Regina M. Haase

Passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 91.She was born in Belmont, NY August 28, 1918 the daughter of the late William and Florence (Davis) Mess. She attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Elmira Business Institute. Mrs. Haase had a long career working in the Steele Memorial Library, for the Elmira City School District, Chemung County Health Department and Environmental Services Department. She will also be remembered as a hard-working, always pleasant volunteer at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Most would probably remember her as the friendly lady who gave out the paychecks! Survivors include: daughter, Carol Wirfel of Glens Falls, NY; son, David and his wife, Michele of Sharpsburg, GA; grandchildren, Andrew Wirfel of Pittsburgh, PA; Matthew Wirfel of Denver, CO; Morgan Hasse and Michael Haase of Sharpsburg, GA. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Saturday, September, 18, 2010 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 3:30 PM. The Reverend Betsey Crimmins will celebrate Regina's services.
