Was born February 2, 1929 in Millerton, the son of the late Noel and Celia (Peterson) Card. Rex passed away after a serious illness at the Elcor Health Facility in Horseheads, NY on Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the age of 78. Rex married Fannie Sopp, March 7, 1950 in Elmira Heights, NY. They enjoyed 55 wonderful years of life and love together until Fannies death January 14, 2006. Rex is survived by his beloved children, Evelyn (Phillip) Arnold of Millerton, PA; Susan (Kenneth) Johnson of Muskegon, MI; Kevin (Mary) Card of Millerton, PA; much loved grandchildren, Shawn (Kelly) Arnold, Tim (Penny) Arnold and Michelle (Brett) Bourdette all of Millerton, PA; adored great grandchildren, Michael, Mason and Taylor Arnold also of Millerton, PA; sisters, Hilda Allen; Mary Friends; Josephine (Marion) Smith; brother, Nils (Patty) Card; sister-in-laws, Eva (Orvis) Swisher; Dorothy (David) Matison; Florence Waters; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Two sisters also predeceased him. Rex attended Millerton Schools. He retired from Trayer Products with 20 + years and farmed in Millerton for many years. Rex enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an accomplished woodworker, making scaled down buildings with Kevin for a farm display. Rex made several small barns and a log cabin for his great grandchildren. He always looked forward to work night with Phil, Shawn and Tim. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Thursday, May 17, 2007 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Memorial Service honoring Rexs life will be celebrated following the visitation. (7 PM) Pastor Harold Burrell will officiate. Those wishing may direct memorial donations to the Millerton Volunteer Fire Department 16 North Road Millerton, PA 16936 or to a charity of ones choice.
