Age 71, of Richard Street Elmira, NY passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 13, 1932 in Elmira the son of the late Lewis and Alice (Wasiewski) Labuski. Richard married Marian M. Boynton April 6, 1953. This past April marked their golden wedding anniversary of 50 wonderful years of life and love together. He is survived by his loving wife, Marian; beloved children, Richard Labuski of Elmira, NY; Ron (Carol) Labuski of West Grove, PA; James (Joni) Labuski of Horseheads, NY; Rene` Murdock of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Colleen and Heather Labuski; Ryan (Jill) Labuski and Kerianne Labuski; Andrew, Jenah and Luke Labuski; Jessica Labuski, Jason Murdock and Jeffrey Evans; great grandchildren, Rowan Krajcik, Brianna Johnson, Kira and Jaden Labuski; sister, Eleanor Ackerson of Elmira, NY; brother, Robert (Maria) Labuski of Long Island, NY; brother-in-laws, Ray and Harry Boynton of Elmira, NY; along with several nieces, nephews and many close friends. Richard was a Veteran of the US Navy proudly serving his country from 1951 to 1955. He retired from the New York Telephone Company with over 30 years of dedicated service. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Elks Club in Elmira, Eagles Club # 941 and the American Legion Clarence Oliver Post # 154 Elmira Heights, NY. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Sunday November 30, 2003 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held there on Monday, December 1, 2003 at 11:00 AM. His friend and neighbor the Reverend Edward Crandall will officiate. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery where the Chemung Veterans Honor Squad will accord full Military Honors to Mr. Labuski.
