Richard G. Dytman

Richard Gordon Dytman, 92, of Horseheads, NY passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center of kidney failure.Richard was born in Allegheny, NY on October 22, 1923, son of the late August Wilhelm (Will) Dytman and Eunice Helfrect Dytman. He is predeceased by siblings, Alberta, Norton, Merton, John and Walter. Richard is survived by his brother, Arman Dytman; nieces, Nancy Dytman, Judy Baldwin, Cathy Bertrand; and nephews, Jack Dytman, Walter Sullivan, Stephen Dytman and David Dytman.Richard graduated from Southside High School in 1940.He was a member of Theta Chi at Colgate University from which he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in1945.He spent time in the US Army stateside.He received an MBA from Wharton Business School and worked in Rochester, NY and Omaha, Nebraska before returning to Elmira to work for many years as a certified public accountant.A private family funeral will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers, to the Steele Memorial Library, 101 E. Church St., Elmira, NY 14901.
