Richard E. Kinner

Richard E. Kinner Sr., 90, of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving family, Burt and Irma, daughter, Leona Abplanalp, grand-daughter, Marie Kinner Balch and his faithful companion, Scruffy. Richard was a WWII Veteran of the US Army. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, a sister and his loving wife of 57 years, Leona Dewaters Kinner. Surviving are his children, Velma Yontz, Ada (King) Rodabaugh, Burt (Irma) Kinner, Patricia (Ron) Havlen, Amelia Murray, Richard (Robin) Kinner Jr., David (Novella) Kinner and Leona Abplanalp; several grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren; a sister Velma Merrick and his very special cousin Edith Cain; along with several nieces and nephews. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be a memorial service and a time of fellowship and food at the Elmira Heights American Legion on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 3 PM to 5 PM.
