Richard D. Finch Of Pine City, NY was born January 6, 1934 in Shinglehouse, PA. The son of the late Pearl and Laura (Buchanan) Finch, passed away peacefully at his Southport home on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 with his family at his bedside. His brother, Russell also preceded him in death. Dick is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth Joyce (Wagner) Finch, with whom he has enjoyed 64 wonderful years of life and love with; daughters: Lisa (Scott) Callahan of Denver, CO; Betsy (Ken) Ballew of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren: Laura (Brandon) Ridenhour and Cody Callahan; sister-in-law, Marjorie Finch; along with several nieces and nephews. Dick retired from Anchor Glass in 1999 after 46 years of dedicated service. He was a longtime and faithful member of the Pine City Baptist Church and was their custodian for 25 years. He was a volunteer for the Chemung Valley Action Corp and the Gold Card Club and was a member of AARP. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira/Southport, NY on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm. Reverend George Herrick and Reverend Horrace Stoddard will officiate. Interment will take place at the convenience of his family in the Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Pine City Baptist Church, 1516 Pennsylvania Ave., Pine City, NY 14871 or to an animal charity of your choice.
