Richard H. “Doc” Morrell Age 90, passed away on December 17, 2011 with his family by his side, in Rogersville, TN. Richard was born: March 18, 1921 in Pine City, New York where he spent most of his life. He is survived by,daughters & sons-in-law – Francie & Donald Saunders, Sr. of Rogersville, TN, and Sonja & Michael Garrison of Morristown, TN; grandchildren, Donald Saunders, Jr., Francine Saunders, Shelly Wibirt, and Pamela Wibirt Brown; Great Grandchildren, Nicole Saunders, Mikenzie Fisher, and Jessica Brown, Along with many nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his father, Hiram Benjamin Morrell, mother, Mabel Wilson Morrell,: wife, Frances Hulslander Morrell, son, Benjamin A. Morrell, sister, Marilyn Sherman, brother-in-law, Ernest “Parm” Sherman. He was a lifelong resident of Pine City, New York and owned and operated Pine City Petroleum & The Water Wagon. Richard enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during WWII on an LST carrier. He was a 56 year member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed watching Baseball games and bowling with his Masonic brothers.His greatest love of all was flying his airplane, with family and friends, to various placesthroughout the country. The family will receive friends at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/Southport, NY on Wednesday December 21, 2011 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, with Funeral Service there Thursdayafternoon at 1:00 PM. His cousin Reverend Allen Hulslander will officiate, graveside service willfollow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY.
