Richard L. Purvis

PURVIS, Richard Lee DickAge 74 of Horseheads, NY passed away on Saturday September 20, 2008 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. He was born on May 21, 1934 in Blossburg, PA son of the late Herman and Eva (Wales) Purvis. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Marie Arlene (Sheets) Purvis, daughter, Pamela Marie Purvis and son Michael Richard Purvis. Dick is survived by his daughter and son in-law, Brenda L. and Eric C. Davies, grandson Joseph E. Davies and granddaughter, Renee L. (Christopher) Cady All of Horseheads, NY, brothers, Gerald (Virginia) Purvis, of Millport, NY, Edward (Mary) Purvis of Borrego Springs, CA, James (Dixie) Purvis, of San Jose, CA, Ronald (Kathy) Purvis, of Lake Stevens, WA, along with several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport on Saturday September 27, 2008 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service Saturday at 3:00 PM. Dick will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, next to his beloved wife Marie at the convenience of the family.
