Rita R. Symonds

Of Pine City, NY passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2003 at home.Rita was born November 7, 1919 the daughter of the late Patrick and Jennie (McAtee) Monahan. She is also predeceased by her husband Robert H. Symonds, and granddaughter; Susan L. Vert, sisters; Kathleen Bailey and Marguerite DeNunzio, also 4 brothers-in-law, 2 nephews and a niece. Rita is survived by daughters and son-in-law; Rosemary Vert, Madeline Harrison, Claire Tacka, Robin & Moe Merah, grandchildren; Linda Calcote, Robert Vert, Colleen Ward, Paul Harrison, Susan Maloney, Corrinna Van Strander, Jelene Rogers, Adam & Ben Merah; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, sisters; Marion Roberts and Helen Jeziorski, also several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Monday, September 1, 2003 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary?s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira.Father Wainwright will celebrate the Mass.Interment will be in St. Peter & Paul?s Cemetery immediately following the Mass.Those wishing may make memorial donations in Rita?s name to the charity of their choice.A ?Candle of Remembrance? may be left for the family at www.olthof.com.
