Robert E. Baker

Baker, Robert E. “Bob” age 87 of Wellsburg, NY passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 25th, 2015 at home. He was born in Elmira, NY the son of the late Earl and Florence Baker. He is predeceased by his wife of 29 years: Jacqueline (Rhoades) Passmore-Baker, and his son: Daniel E. Baker. Surviving are his sons: Bruce Robert Baker of FL and Rick (Denise) Baker of Stewart Town, PA; daughters: Judith (Wesley) Thomas of NC, Jill (John) Malone of Pine City, Alice Rescue of PA; 9 Grandchildren; 4 Great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and son, Bob is also predeceased by siblings: Wesley, Verne, and Elizabeth. In service to his country he showed great devotion, serving in both World War II and Korean Wars in the United States Navy. Bob worked and retired from American Bridge in Elmira Heights after many years of dedication. He was a member of the Elmira Heights American Legion Post #154. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Saturday, August 29th, 2015 from 4:00PM to 5:00PM. Memorial services celebrating Bob’s life will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 5:00PM. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
