Robert L.Brimmer Jr. JayAge 76 of Elmira, NY went to be with the Lord on Thursday August 28, 2008At St. Josephs Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Son of the late Robert L Sr. & CharlotteBrimmer. Predeceased by brother and niece,William and Carol Jean Brimmer. Survived by loving sister and brother in-law Donna & Dan McGrain of Pine City, NY. Nieces Jill and Scott Troutt of Elmira, NY, Mary & Ric Aumick of Pine City, NY Sharon & John Jackson of Wrentham, MA, Barb & Bruce Grennell, Horseheads, NY, Mary & Harry McAlinn, of Elmira, NY, Kathy Needler of Uxbridge, MA, nephews, Mike Brimmer of Elmira, NY, John Brimmer of Wellsburg, NY. He was like a grandfather to his great nieces and nephews, Zachary & Bryce Akins, Alex & Lacey Aumick, Nicholas & Isabella Troutt, many other great nieces and nephews. A graduate of Southside High School.He was a member of The Elmira Moose Club, Elmira Eagles Club, and Stachue Club, Member of the United Methodist Church. Robert was a Bowling and Billiard Champion, also a Little League Baseball Coach and YMCA Basketball Coach. Avid Baltimore Orioles Fan and personnel friend of Earl Weaver. Worked at Artistic Card Company, retired from the A&P Plant, and worked at Burns International Security. He was a very close friend to many of the residents at Flannery Apartments.Family and Friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave.Elmira/Southport, NY Tuesday September 2, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there at 7:00 PM. The Reverend Mark Erway officiating. Interment at the convenience of the family will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Those wishing may make memorials to the Food Bank of Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church.The family would like to thank the Pine City Volunteer Fire Department, Erway Ambulance and the Nurses and staff of the ICU Unit of St. Josephs Hospital for the care and kindness given to Robert during his illness.
