Robert P. Freeman

March 25, 1929 — April 12, 2012

Was born March 25, 1929 in Montour Falls, NY the son of the late Gilbert and Marie (Porter) Freeman, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Bethany Manor at the age of 83. His loving wife of 23 years, Elizabeth (Mahoney) Freeman and daughter, Virginia Preston (2010) preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Michael (Jeane) Freeman; grandson, Francis (Trisha)Freeman; granddaughter, Courtney Preston; siblings, Mary Lou (Richard) Sowers, Elizabeth "Betty" (Carl) Drake, Max (Mary Alice) Freeman, James and Susan Freeman and Douglas Freeman; great grandchildren, MKenzie Freeman and Carter Freeman all of the Elmira area; along with several nieces and nephews. Robert was a Veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He retired from IBM with over 30 years of dedicated service. He was also a faithful member and Exalted Ruler of the BPOE Elks Club # 62 Elmira. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 4:00 to 5:00 PM. Funeral services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 5 PM. The Reverend Aola Jackson will celebrate Robert's service. He will be laid to rest with his beloved Elizabeth on Wednesday at 11 AM in the Bradford County Memorial Park Luther Mills, PA with his brother James conducting the committal service.
