Robert G. Henshaw

Was born August 19, 1925 in Fassett, PA, the son of the late Gary and Mary (Parks) Henshaw.He passed away on Monday, January 23, 2006 very unexpectedly at the Robert Packer Hospital at the age of 80. Robert served in the US Marine Corps during WW II. After being honorably discharged from the Marines, he returned home to Elmira, then went to Oxford, NJ, and finally settled in Athens, PA, where he became employed as a heavy equipment mechanic. Robert was also a member of the National Rifleman Association and was an avid hunter. He was the beloved husband of Marie (McAfee); dear loving father of Robert Jr. of Athens; Earl (Linda) of Six Nations; Ronnie (Gayle) of Honesdale; Shirley (Phillip), Lisa (Frank), Susan (Alvie), Ken (Kathy), and Louise (Bill), all of Six Nations, Canada. Robert was also a dear stepfather of Diane (Monte) of Texas; Lynn and Ann of New York; and had 26 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 from 6 to 8 PM, with a brief ceremony to be held following the visitation at 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held there on Thursday, January 26th at 11 AM, celebrated by his son, Ken.Immediately following the service, the Chemung County Veteran?s Honor Squad will accord Mr. Henshaw full military honors at the funeral home.
