Robert W Mcquaid

Was born March 6, 1924 in Baldwinsville, NY the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Remonda) McQuaid, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, January 26, 2009 at St. Joseph's hospital at the age of 84. On the 9th of August, Robert would have celebrated 64 wonderful years, with the love of his life, Audrey Riche`. Other survivors include: daughter, Judith McQuaid of Anaheim, CA; son, John (Patricia) McQuaid of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Rebecca (Shawn) Rothman-Cary, Michael Rothman, Jesse Rothman; Justin McQuaid, Jason (Karen) McQuaid, Joshua McQuaid, Denise (Gary) Robinson; along with 10 great grandchildren, 1 niece and 1 nephew. Robert was a Veteran of the US Army proudly serving his country from 1942 to 1945 during WW II. He retired from Capitol Rubber in Baton Rouge, LA as supervisor with numerous dedicated years of service. He was a past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus # 2807 and was a Second Degree Alhambra. Robert was a good man, a loving husband, wonderful father and a beloved grandfather who will be dearly missed. There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to gather at Our Lady of Lourdes Church 1100 West Church Street Elmira, NY on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM for a Memorial Mass. The Reverend Jeremiah Moynihan will celebrate Robert's Mass. Interment will take place in the spring at the convenience of his family in Woodlawn National Cemetery where the Marine Corps League will accord Mr. McQuaid military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 505 North Parkway Box # 3704 Memphis, TN 38105.
