Age 47 of Big Flats, courageously joined the ?Heroes of Faith?, March 7th, 2006 at the Robert Packer Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Bob is the son of Carolyn Campbell O?Connell of Corning and her late husband Robert F. O?Connell.Surviving Bob is his loving wife of 22 years, Susan Benell O?Connell; sons, Robert A. O?Connell, Josiah D. O?Connell, Jonathan D. O?Connell all of Big Flats; daughter, Vanessa C. O?Connell of Painted Post; sisters, Janine (Kevin) Smith of Corning, Colleen Perez of Elmira Heights; nieces, Devin, Aleah Detres; nephews, Matthew, Craig, Shawn Smith. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Friday, March 10th, 2006 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. Funeral services celebrating the life and dream of Pastor Bob will be shared at the conclusion of the calling hours at 4:00PM. Pastor Bob Wing will officiate. Private graveside services will be conducted at the Bath National Cemetery on Monday, at a time convenient with the family. Pastor Bob was the founder and current Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church in Big Flats, NY and bus driver for the Corning/ Painted Post School District.He was a gifted carpenter and cabinet maker, very proud to serve his country in the United States Navy. Loved hunting, fishing and his hunting dogs. He was an avid reader, loved to garden and being in the wind on his motorcycle. Most of all Bob will best be known as being a loving husband, wonderful father, and devoted son and brother. The love of the Fountain of Life Church will continue to help, provide for, and grow through its healing and will become stronger, to continue the vision that the Lord placed in Pastor Bob?s heart.
