ROBBINS, Robert V. "Robbie" Loving husband, father & grandfather Age 72, was born November 29, 1936 in Corning, NY the son of the late Van E. and Evelyn (Little) Robbins, went home to be with his Lord unexpectedly at his home surrounded by his loving and devoted family. His brother, Carlton Robbins also predeceased him. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia (Wheeler) Robbins; beloved daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Dunn of Pine City, NY; adored grandchildren, Julianne and Nicholas; brothers, Edward (Carol) Robbins of Pine City, NY; Roger (Donna) Robbins of Corning, NY; Arthur (Joyce) Robbins of Richmond, VA; sisters, Norma (Dean) Davies of Horseheads, NY; Patricia Darcangelo of Coopers Plains, NY; Barbara Boyce of Watkins Glen, NY; Bonnie Gillis of Elmira, NY; Nancy Horton of Elmira, NY; sister-in-law Louise Robbins along with numerous nieces and nephews. "Robbie" was a dedicated employee of Welliver McGuire Inc. and was a 50-year member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craft Workers Union. He was noted for his stonework and brick laying and also for his work on the Centerway Arch in Corning, local hospitals, banks and schools. He was a faithful member of the Caton United Methodist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His pride and joy was his family, especially his much-loved grandchildren, Julianne and Nicholas. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services honoring his life will be held on Friday, February 20, 2009 in the Caton United Methodist Church Hendy Hollow Road Caton, NY 14830. Pastor Beth Bowens and Pastor Betty Bement will celebrate "Robbie's" services. Interment will take place at the convenience of his family in the Elmwood Cemetery Caton, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to his church or the Caton Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home or Church.
