Robert â??Hot Rod�? Adams

Age 58, very unexpectedly on Monday, August 25th, 2003. Bob was the son of the late Floyd and Nevah Andrews Adams. Born December 26th, 1944 in Elmira, NY. Known as Bob to some, ?Hot Rod? to most, and his over the road family referred to him as ?Day Tripper?. He was a very hard worker, who marched to his own drum. Always able to give a hand to a friend or neighbor. Hot Rod was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.He was a proud, life-long truck driver, Harley rider, and muscle car enthusiast; who enjoyed the time he spent with his canine side kicks ?Dasher? and ?Trudy?.Hot Rod embraced life like no other; he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting, but the apple of his eye was always his love, Cheryl. Surviving Hot Rod is his loving wife of 14 years, Cheryl Adams; son Robert J. Adams Jr.; grandchildren, Destiny, Kyra, and James; brothers, Floyd and Lisa Adams of Millerton, Pa; and Rexford and Dorothy Adams of Covington, Pa; sisters, Anita and Wilbur Wood of Mansfield, Pa; Delores Burlew of Elmira, NY; and Marlene Hitchcock, also of Elmira, NY; and his loving canine companions, ?DASHER? and ?TRUDY?.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Thursday, August 28th, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral services will be held there Friday, August 29th, 2003 at 10:00 AM. The Reverend Douglas Hodge will officiate. Graveside services will follow in procession to the Jackson Center Cemetery in Millerton, PA. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the ?
