Robert“Bob” SilvernailAge 82, lifelong resident of the Gillett community, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.He was born in Elmira, October 14, 1931 the son of the late Eldon and Mildred (Lewis) Silvernail. Bob is survived by his loving wife and friend of 22 years, Jacquelin Hamlin (Coon) Silvernail of Gillett; daughter: Suzanne (Allen) Putnam of Troy, Pa; sons: Robert A. Silvernail of Elmira, NY; James E. (Lana) Silvernail of Gillett, PA; step children: Joel (Jennifer) Coon of Elmira, and Rebecca (Joe) Holtby of Clifton Springs, NY; grandchildren: Heather (Kenneth) Bohner, Sarah (Steven) Murray, Justin (Teresa) Silvernail, Jamie Putnam, Todd Putnam, Eric (Brittany) Silvernail, Courtney (Zachary) Tupper, Marc Silvernail, Khristina Bement (Robert Decker), Tommy, Sarah, MatthewCoon, Payton, Cora, Hunter Holtby; 15 great grandchildren: sister: Anna Coyle of Bath, NY; best friends: Edward and Diane Hawkins of Addison. In addition to his parents, Bob is predeceased by his first wife of 38 years: Joanne Kempfer Silvernail, brothers: Charles and Richard “Red” Silvernail. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/Southport, NY Saturday, September 6th, 2014 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. Funeral and committal services will be offered celebrating the life of Bob Silvernail at 4:00 PM. The Reverend William Vallet will officiate. Private graveside services will be held at the Gillett Cemetery at a time convenient with the family.Those wishing, please make memorials in Robert Silvernail’s name to the South Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
