Ages 87 & 86, of Pine City NY, returned to their Lord on August 31, 2005 after 64 years of marriage together, surrounded by their children.They are survived by their children; Patricia (Donald) Large of West Linn, OR, Robert (Emily) Whitney of West Elmira, NY, Michael (Ann) Whitney of Horseheads, NY, Mary Lou (Joseph) Galasso ofRochester, NY; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.Robert was a US Army Veteran of WWII, a VFW member, a former member of the Elmira Traffic Club.In his spare time he enjoyed taking care of his yard, gardening and fishing.Elizabeth was an avid reader who enjoyed crocheting, gardening, making quilts, along with being a crossword puzzler.She was a communicant of St. Mary?s Church for many years.Her true enjoyment was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Elizabeth was a caring and giving person throughout the community, who was there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Saturday, September 3, 2005 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and Sunday morning from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter & Paul?s Church, 161 High St., Elmira, NY with Father Richard Farrell celebrant.Interment at the convenience of the family in St. Peter & Paul?s Cemetery, Elmira.Those wishing may make memorial donations to the St. Joseph?s Foundation, 555 E.
