ZELIFF, Roberta R.Town of Southport residentWas born July 23, 1927 in Sayre, PA the daughter of the late Ernest and Helen (Bramhall) Kissel passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2008 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 80. Her beloved husband, Roger H. Zeliff on November 16, 1978 predeceased her. Her sisters, Elsie Rosh, Patricia Debski and Floy Reynolds, also preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving daughters and son-in-laws, Linda and Bruce North of Hudson Falls, NY; Kay and Thomas Savino of Pine City, NY; Jean and Ken Wrigley of Pine City, NY; adored grandchildren, MacLaren North (Suzanne Christie), Allison (Matthew) Levin, Matthew (Jeannine) Savino, Kyra Savino (Chad Springett), Amy Savino, Kerry Solometo, Andrew (Emily) Solometo; much-loved great grandchildren, Jonah Levin, Grant Levin, Veronica Savino, Alec, Luca and Micah Solometo; sisters, Donna Northrup of Horseheads, NY; Mary (Carl) Shay of Athens, PA; Nancy (Don) Webster of Oneonta, NY; along with numerous nieces and nephews. For many dedicated years, Roberta worked in the offices of Doctors Phillips and Hertzog, eventually retiring from the Arnot Ogden Medical Center as a Registered Nurse after many faithful years of service. She was a member of the IAV and the Widow and Widowers Saturday morning breakfast club. Until the very end, Roberta was fiercely independent. She was very competitive as a card and scrabble player and was an avid bowler as well. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing, cross-stitching and quilting in her spare time. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Saturday, January 19, 2008 from 11:00 to 1:00 PM. A Memorial Service, honoring her life will be celebrated by Mary Ann Klee following the visitation at 1 PM. Interment will take place privately in the Woodlawn National Cemetery where Roberta will be placed in the Columbarium with her beloved Roger. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Arnot Ogden Medical Center Auxiliary Fund 600 Roe Ave. Elmira, NY 14905, St. Josephs Hospital Auxiliary Fund 555 East Market Street Elmira, NY 14901 or to the Southport Volunteer Fire Department 1001 Carl Street Elmira, NY 14904.
