Robin “Rob” L. TylerAge 52 of Elmira, NY, went to be with his Lord on Friday April 6, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 21, 1959 in Sayre, Pa to William E. and Florence G. Tyler. He married Tamara L. Brown on August 1, 1992 in Elmira, NY. Rob was a member of The Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #517. For many years he was owner/operator of Better Builder, and was formerly employed at CAF Rail Car Fabricating, in Elmira Heights, NY.Rob was an avid carpenter who took great pride in his work and enjoyed building and remodeling for his family and friends. Rob enjoyed the companionship of his Pugs and will be fondly remembered for his great conversations.He is survived by his loving wife, Tami, “son” Anthony Strait; recently reacquainted with daughter, Lynn Porter; his four loving pugs, Miss Puggles, Ruby, Romeo, Brutus “Gator Bait”. Siblings: Oscar Tyler, Margaret “Peg” Rose, Cindy Sue Pellett, Kimberly (Charles) Baker, Rick (Mary E.)Tyler, Kurina (James) Mase, Mary (Doug) Tyler-Crout. Sisters/brothers-in-law; Jennifer Bunn, Dennis (Joan) Brown, Debra Brown and Todd Brown, also, numerous nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much. Rob was predeceased by his parents, William E. and Florence G. (Lane) Tyler, his mother in-law and father in-law, Alice and Howard Brown, also predeceased by his brother, William E. Tyler III, brother in-law, Patrick Pellett, great niece, MacKenzie Maynard, and nephew, Frankie Fudala III. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport on Friday April 13, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.Funeral Service honoring his life will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM. Internment will take place in theWoodlawn Cemetery, Elmira, NY at the conclusion of the Funeral Service. In Lieu of flowers, those wishing to, may make donations to the Wilmont Cancer Center in Rochester, NY or the Faulk Cancer Center in Elmira, NY in Rob's memory.Rob wished to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff that were involved in his care during his courageous fight with head and neck cancer.
