Rosa Lea Burke

Age 75 of Elmira Heights, NY, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 11, 2004 following an extended illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sylvania, PA on December 13, 1928, the daughter of the late George E. and Elsie (Monroe) Van Marter. Rosa Lea is survived by her daughter; Christiana (LaVerne) Kipferl of Millerton, PA; son; Martin J. Burke at home; sister, Mary (Ronald) Pazzaglia of Roseville, PA; sister in-law; Charlotte Reynolds of San Leandro, CA; cousin, William C. Nash of Phoenix, AZ; 6 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Rosa Lea loved spending time with her family, gardening, and she had a willingness to lend a hand whenever needed. She retired from ITS as a security guard at the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport and was employed in various departments of Chemung County. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Private Funeral and Committal Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Sylvania Cemetery, Sylvania, PA. The family will provide their own flowers and in lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial donations to the Jackson Summit Baptist Church, RR #1 Box 77, Millerton, PA 16936 or the charity of one?s choice.
