Ruth Esther Haskins

Was born December 16, 1913 in Elmira the daughter of the late George L. and Margaret (Haendle) Hoy passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Elcor Health Services at the age of 92. Her beloved husband, Alvie R. Haskins preceded her in death December 13, 1976. Her 5 sisters and 1 brother also predeceased her. Ruth is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Bruce Dickinson of Elmira, NY; loving son, George Haskins of Elmira, NY; much loved grandchildren, Bruce Dickinson and Dawn Haag; adored great grandchildren, Jeffrey Dickinson, Charles Adams Dickinson, Caitlyn Haag, Amber Dickinson and Alexander Haag; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Ruth was a long time member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Elmira and was also very active with the RSVP. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral Services honoring her life will be held there following the visitation at 6:00 PM. Hospice chaplain, Reverend Ellie Haber will celebrate Ruths services. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery privately at the convenience of the family.
