Ruth Ava Maus

Pine City, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility Elmira, NY at the age of 93. She was born April 28, 1916 in Elmira, the daughter of the late William and Bessie (Robinson) Stimmerman. Her loving husband, Donald C. Maus and beloved daughter, Sandra predeceased her. Her brothers, Robert, Charles, Daniel, Richard Stimmerman and sister, Anna Swan also preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Don and Karen Maus of Gillett, PA; brothers, Orrin Stimmerman of Florida; Carl (Joanne) Stimmerman of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Sherry (Tim) Todd, Lisa (Jeff) Carlson, Mark (Amy) Murdough, Todd (Patricia) Murdough, Kathleen Lockhart; Sarah (Peter) Fagan, Rachel Maus; great grandchildren, Erin and Kelly Todd; Kayla and Marcella Carlson; Amber, Ryan and Alexandra Murdough; Joshua Murdough; Christopher and Eric Fagan, 2 great great grandchildren, Brandon and Chad Lockhart along withnumerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was a faithful member of the Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church, an avid reader, liked to crochet and above all else, loved and enjoyed her family. A gathering of her family and friends will take place on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. Funeral services honoring her life will follow the visitation at 7:30 PM. The Reverend Bill Vallet will celebrate Ruth's service. Interment will take place at the convenience of her family in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Elmira, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church Food Pantry 1238 Pennsylvania Ave. Pine City, NY 14871 in memory of Ruth.
