Ruth E. Maynard

Maynard, Ruth E., age 89, a lifelong member of the Gillett community, passed away Monday morning at the Bradford County Manor.Ruth was the daughter of the late Earl and Essie (Swartwood) Gordon.She was born April 21st, 1923, in Elmira, NY.Ruth is survived by her loving husband and friend of 65 years, Lynn D. Maynard of Gillett, PA; son Gary Maynard of Gillett, Pa;granddaughter Shawna (Brendon) Stoner of Atco, NJ and 2 great- grandsons, Riley, and Dylan Stoner;special cousin Ethel Thorp of Gillett, PA, and close neighbors, Marvin and Collette Roberts of Gillett, PA.She is predeceased by her daughter Linda Haxton in 1979.Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. , 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY, Wednesday,June 13th, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Thursday, June 14th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services celebrating the life of Ruth E. Maynard will follow at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Allen Goss with Ruth’s nephew, Reverend Donald Maynard, will officiate.Graveside services will be held in the Gillett Cemetery, Gillett, PA.Ruth worked at Moore Business Forms and retired as a clerk from the Gillett Post office.She was a member of the Gillett Baptist Church.Along with scrapbooking and crafting, she found great joy in growing and planting her own flowers.Those who wish may make memorials in Ruth E. Maynard’s name to the Gillett Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
