Age 89 of Horseheads, NY, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Chemung County Nursing Facility.Ruth?s daughter, Gloria Elston, passed away unexpectedly the day after Ruth on Thursday, February 16, 2006.Ruth is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Fred) Ricks of Tennessee; grandchildren, Tammy (Cecil Poole) Elston; Shaun and Kim Westrick Elston; Corinna Stanton; Robin (Tony Phillips) Stanton; great grandchildren, Blake Elston; Peyton Elston; Rachael Phillips; Dorian Elston; and Erica Phillips; brother, George (Sally) Taylor of Anderson, SC; and sister in-law, Juanita Taylor of Brookville, MD.Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard and her beloved cat, ?Rusty.?She was a member of Harmony-Loyal Chapter O.E.S. #265.Ruth raised and enjoyed horses, knitting, crocheting, and latch-hooking rugs. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. on Sunday, February 19, 2006 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM, with Funeral and Committal Service there at 8 PM. Her pastor, Reverend Dennis Christiansen will officiate.Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at a time convenient for the family.Memorial donations may be made in Ruth?s name to the American Cancer Society.
