Samuel P. Morrow

age 88, formerly of 1157 Charles Street Elmira passed away on Friday March 26th at the ELCOR Nursing Facility in Horseheads.He was born June 10th, 1921 to the late Peter and Margaret Clark Morrow in Elmira, where he resided most of his life except when he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Alma Woods Morrow and children; Anthony L. Morrow and wife Ann of Brevard, NC, Charles and Jean (Morrow) Loew of Lansing, NY and Kevin J. Morrow of Hilton Head, SC. Sam was predeceased by his son, Robert S. Morrow, granddaughter Andrea Lynn Morrow and brothers; Anthony, Michael, Thomas, Peter and sister Dorothy. Also surviving are grandchildren; Shane, Aaron and Brandon Morrow, Jessica Castilow, RickMorrow and Beth Perry, Samantha Preston, Eric Vague and twelve great -grandchildren along with two sisters Theresa Haven of Elmira Heights and Celeste Maki of Apple Valley, CA. Sam also leaves many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Sam's niece Patty Rogers of Pine City for her unselfish love and attention to her Uncle Sam. Sam worked for many years in the flooring industry including his own business. He loved tending his garden and yard, fishing and hunting, and especially deer hunting. He was ahead of his time with organic gardening and was a self - taught tree grafter. A memorial service honoring Samuel's life will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY.
