Sherrill L. Strong

SOUTHPORT – Sherrill L. Strong, 76, of Southport, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022.  Born on October 9, 1946 in Wilson, NC, she was the daughter of the late Paul Hutchings and Roxanna R. (Ames) Dininny.  Sherril graduated from EBI in 1990, specializing in Travel.

On October 26,1963, she married the love of her life, Gerald N. Strong Jr., who predeceased her on September 11, 2022.

Sherrill worked for Mark Twain Travel for many years.  She opened her own business Sherrill's Land and Sea Vacations. She worked as a Travel agent and retired from her own business in 2009.

Sherrill loved to dance and was an amazing dancer. She liked to bowl and had a passion for cooking and passed generations of recipes down to her family.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Michael Strong.

She is survived by her daughters, Yvonne and Tina; her son, Daniel; her 7 grandchildren; her 9 great-grandchildren; her brother, Craig (Linda) Hutchings; sister, Kim (Ray) Loyd; as well many nieces and nephews.
