Shirley R. Sweet

Was born April 1, 1923 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Chauncey and Mabel (LaDue) Reid passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital in New York City at the age of 86. Her beloved husband, Eugene M. Sweet predeceased her August 3, 1990. She is survived by her loving children: son and daughter-in-law, Lynn and Sally Sweet of Elmira, NY; daughter and son-in-law, Sharron and Bruce Hurlbert of Rushville, NY; grandchildren, Heather Sweet, Tonya (Shawn) Eddinger, Michael (Melissa) Sweet, Gregory Abbey; Jennifer Forgue; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Reid of Binghamton, NY; along with 3 nephews. Shirley retired as secretary from Hapeman-Rodriguez Chiropractic after 40years of dedicated service. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY at 2:00 PM. The Reverend Bill Vallet will celebrate her services. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of her family in Woodlawn National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Eugene.
