Age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at home surrounded by his loving and caring family.He was born April 18, 1917 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Theodore C. and Linnia (Baumann) Packard. He was predeceased by his grandchildren, Donna Kendall and Patricia Packard; sisters, Dorothy Hudson, Mary (Harold) Wenck, and Louise Woodard; and brothers, Robert (Leatrice) Packard and Theodore Packard.Stanley was married to Rosa Morley on April 3, 1943 in Elmira, NY, by the Reverend Bruce Pierce in his parsonage on Spruce Street. They have enjoyed 61 wonderful years of life and love together. His survivors include his loving wife, Rosa; sons, Richard S. and JoAnn Packard of Gillett, PA; Dale R. and Cecelia Packard of Eagle River, AK; daughters, Linda L. (Richard Lumbard) Getola of Elmira, NY; Nancy E. and Wendall Kendall of Granville Summitt, PA; beloved grandchildren, Carol (Rex) Roy, Keith Packard, Nicole (Justin) Bates, Gwendolyn Packard and Zack Packard, Christopher (Gena) Getola, Brian (Michelle Garrison) Getola, Donald (Jill Sorge) Getola, Jeff (Roni) Kendall, Bradley Kendall, and Wendy (Jeff) Taylor; along with 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sister, Loretta (Raymond) Trzypkowski of Cuba, NY; brother-in-law, James Woodard of Sayre, PA. ?Pete? as he was affectionately known by all, retired from the Troy Area School District at the Mosherville Elementary School after several years of dedicated service as custodian. He also enjoyed painting and farming and was an avid hunter. For many years he mowed and maintained lawns for the residents of Mosherville and the surrounding areas. ?Pete? and Rosa got great pleasure in selling flowers and vegetables they had grown in their own greenhouse. In his spare time, ?Pete? cut and sold firewood as well. He received his greatest joy from his family, especially his grandchildren. According to ?Pete?s? wishes there will be no prior calling hours. His cremation will take place at the South Port Crematorium, Inc. at the convenience of his family. Memorial donations may be directed to the Mosherville Elementary School, Mosherville, PA 16936; the Big Elm Volunteer Fire Department, RD # 2 Box 249, Millerton, PA 16936; or to the Guthrie Hospice-Towanda, RD # 1 Box 154, Towanda, PA 18848.
