WIDA, Stephen C. Sr. (Junior) Age 86, of Elmira, NY passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Stephen was born on December 29, 1930 in Wapwallopen, PA, the son of Stephen Wida and Cordelia Wida Gilbert (James Gilbert). He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Charlotte Wida; daughters and sons, Debra (Larry) Benson, Stephen Wida Jr., Randy (Karen) Wida, and Kim Wida (Curt Landon); grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Miles, Christopher (Katie) Wida, Melissa Woodward (Andy Pierce), Heather (Greg) Corsi, Matthew Landon and Jessica Benson (Chris); great grandchildren, Makenzie, Kendra and Maci Wida, Andrew and Alexis Miles, and Nathan Woodward. Also survived by brothers, Kenneth Wida, Lonnie (Ruth) Wida, Drew (Judy) Wida; sister, Betty Gearheart; sisters-in-law, Jean Wida and Doris (Ralph) Brown; special uncle, Tom Womelsdorf; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends Wayne (Jeannette) Bent. He was predeceased by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law Harold and Florence Honabach, sister and brother-in-law, Zelda Grace (Howard) Hontz. Steve loved his family and friends, enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and was always ready to help anyone. He was a coach for Southport Rec and Cinderella Softball for many years. Steve served in the US Army from 8/1952 - 8/1960, and worked at American LaFrance and the Horseheads Do-It-Center. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Monday, February 13, 2107 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Funeral services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 3 pm. The Reverend Richard Hubbard will officiate. Steve will be laid to rest at a time convenient to his family in Fitzsimmons Cemetery, Southport, NY.
