Steven R. Sharak

Of Pine City, NY, Age 91 passed away Wednesday April 23, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital.He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Stella, brother; Michael Sharak, sisters; Anna Mae Brandt and Mary Jane Snyder. Steven is survived by his son; James S. Sharak of Pine City, NY, daughter; Mary Ellen K. Sharak of Pine City, NY; sister;Helen & John Nasca of Warsaw, NY, brother; Harry & Kate Sharak of Syracuse, NY, nieces and nephews.From 1943-1946 Steven was a P47- Thunderbolt Airplane Mechanic in the US Army Aircorp.He was the owner/operator of Hurd & Sharak Food Distribution of Elmira. He was Past President and life member of Pine City Volunteer Fire Department.He attended the Meekers (EBI) Business School, life member of the American Legion, avid gardner and cross country traveler.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Sunday April 27, 2003 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.Mass of Christian Burialwill be held Monday, April 28, 2003 at St. Mary?s Church Southside, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira, at 11:00 am.Father Michael Trainor will officiate.Following Mass, interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads, at the convenience of the family.A ?Candle of Remembrance? may be left for the family at www.olthof.com.
