Susan R. Tavani

Susan R. "Sue"Tavani Beloved wife and mother Age 83 of Flannery Apartments Elmira, NY passed away of Sunday, July 26, 2009 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Her loving husband of 63 years, Orlando Tavani, on February 25, 2009 predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jeffrey Hough; sisters Elvira Cerio and Ann Cavotto; nephews, John (Linda) Cerio and Gary Cerio; niece, Grace Medwick; along with several other nieces and nephews. Sue was a kind, generous and helpful person as long as she was able to help others. She enjoyed writing poetry in her free time. She was employed for a short time with the Bendix Corp. and the Sperry Rand Corp. For 15 years, she lived with her family in Rochester, NY. She was a faithful communicant of St. Mary's Church and was devoted to praying the Rosary. It was her request there be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church 224 Franklin Street Elmira, NY 14904 on Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Jeffrey Tunnicliff will celebrate Sue's Mass. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery where Susan will be laid to rest with her beloved Orlando. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Mary's Church and Holy Family Catholic Schools 421 Fulton Street Elmira, NY 14904.
