Theodore C. Swan

Was born March 11, 1928 in Waverly, NY the son of the late Theodore D. and Adella (Smith) Swan went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 peacefully at the Chemung County Nursing Facility, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 79. On June 30, 1951 Theodore married A. Jean Park at the United Methodist Church in Waverly, NY. Prior to her death June 20, 2006, they celebrated 55 wonderful years of life and love together. His nephew, William Phillips and brother-in-law, Garold Phillips predeceased him. He is survived by his beloved children, Linda (Chris) Lockwood of Elmira, NY; Ted Swan Jr. of Elmira, NY; Karen Kasey(Will) Clark of Elmira, NY; Barb (Nick) Longo of Ithaca, NY; Tom (Sue) Swan of Elmira, NY; sister, Ruth Phillips of South Waverly, PA; along with 10 much loved grandchildren, 6 adored great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Theodore was a Veteran of the US Army proudly serving his country during WW II. He retired from the Gulf Oil Corp. in Big Flats, NY after many years of dedicated and faithful service as plant operations manager. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Friday, March 16, 2007 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services honoring his life, celebrated by the Reverend Anne Mowery, will be held there on Saturday, March 17th at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park where the Chemung County Veterans Honors Squad will accord Mr. Swan full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the North Chemung United Methodist Church 677 North Chemung Road Lowman, NY 14861.
