Thomas M Knapp

Was born July 21, 1938 in Elmira the son of the late Ross and Mary (Stropes) Knapp Sr. passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 peacefully at his home in Southport surrounded by his loving family. His siblings, Darla Simons, Ross Knapp Jr., Shirley Blasingim and Joe Edwards preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sandra (Frost); beloved children: Thomas Knapp Jr. of Millport, NY; Karen (Robert) Coats of Catlin, NY; Denise Cady of Pine City, NY; siblings: Nancy (Darold) Champaign of South Carolina; Joan Stevens of Tennessee; Gordon Knapp of Tennessee; along with 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. For many years, Tom owned and operated Knappy's Body and Fender in Horseheads. He was an avid NASCAR fan and followed it religiously, with Brad Keselowski being his favorite driver. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 7 PM. Lay Pastor and friend, Art Swartwood will officiate. Memorial donations in Tom's memory may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
