Thomas C. Lord

Age 88, was born January 10, 1925 in Athens, PA the son of the late George and Lillian (Gerould) Lord, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility. His loving wife of 49 years, Ann M. (Roth) Lord preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved children, and their spouses: James and Ruth Lord of Gillett, PA; Marjorie and Timothy Roe of Cayuta, NY; Diane and Gary Comstock of Gillett, PA; David and Barbara Lord of Horseheads, NY; sister-in-laws, Betty Heller of Manlius, NY; Joyce Lord of Sayre, PA; along with 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Thomas was a Veteran of the United States Navy proudly serving his country in WW II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from NYSEG after several years of dedicated service. He loved traveling in his RV and camping and was a huge fan of the Indianapolis 500 attending numerous races there. At his request there will be no prior visitation and services will be private. He will be laid to rest in the Fitzsimmons Cemetery at a time convenient to his family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Care First 11751 East Corning Road Corning, NY 14830 or to the Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA 2435 Route # 352 Elmira, NY 14903.
