Age 61, of Horseheads, NY passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.He was born on August 19, 1942 the son of the late Thomas I. Sr. and Gerda (Hagelquist) Patterson.Tom is survived by his loving wife of 32 years; Lisbeth ?Becky? Barchet Patterson; beloved sons; Paul (Rebecca) Patterson of Washington, DC, Matthew Patterson of Horseheads, NY; beloved daughter, Karen Patterson of Horseheads, NY; brothers; Ian of Boston, MA, C. Norman of Warren, NJ; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Martin) Tate of Mahaffey, PA; mother-in-law; Elizabeth Barchet of Big Flats, NY, (formerly of Elmira); a niece and several nephews and cousins.Tom was a graduate of Southside High School and Elmira College, and a US Air Force Veteran.He was formerly employed by The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., Westinghouse Corp. and, most recently, a senior buyer for Dresser Rand Corp.Tom was very active in and a devoted member of Bethany Lutheran Church, serving as a preaching deacon for over 20 years. He was also very active on the Horseheads Youth Advisory Board, and was a past president of the Horseheads Kiwanis Club.Tom?s life was his family; he loved his role as father and husband.He was a very loving and compassionate man, and his smile will be missed.Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Tomat Bethany Lutheran Church, 256 S.
