Was born December 4, 1927 in Williamsport, PA the son of the late Oran and Mae (Bostley) Pfleegor. Tom passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the age of 86. A retired math teacher from Southside High School, Tom cultivated many interesting hobbies. He was an accomplished furniture maker, painter, successful gardener, fisherman and avid golfer. Tom was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Sara Jane (Brickley) Pfleegor in 2008; great grandson, Kylan Gillis in 1997. Tom is survived by 3 children: sons, Steven Pfleegor of Horseheads; James (Gwen) Pfleegor of Horseheads; daughter, Barbara (Bob) Roe of Richmond, VA; sister, Frances McCoy of Catonville, MD; 6 six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. His last days were spent happily within the supportive and caring community of Woodbrook Assisted Living Residence. The family is eternally grateful for their kindness. Family and friends are invited to meet at the main entrance to Woodlawn Cemetery 1200 Walnut Street Elmira, on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM. The Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad will accord Mr. Pfleegor with Military Honors at 1 PM followed by a Graveside Services that Reverend Krista Mendoza will officiate.
